About the Role

As an Veterinary Area Medical Director , you will play a dual role as a practicing veterinarian and medical leader. You’ll oversee clinical standards, mentor associate doctors, and partner with operational leadership to drive hospital performance across a growing network.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a veterinary team through mentorship and training
  • Establish and implement clinical protocols and quality standards
  • Deliver high-quality patient care ~3 days per week in practice
  • Collaborate with leadership to identify growth opportunities and improve performance
  • Monitor outcomes, provide feedback, and ensure continuous quality improvements
  • Guide client communication standards and address complex medical cases

    • Candidate Profile

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM / VMD) degree required
  • Current California veterinary license (or ability to obtain)
  • DEA license in good standing
  • 3–5 years of clinical experience preferred
  • Prior leadership or mentoring experience strongly desirable
  • Strong communicator, mentor, and strategic thinker
