Job Description

Job Description

At Commure, our mission is to simplify healthcare. We have bold ambitions to reimagine the healthcare experience, setting a new standard for how care is delivered and experienced across the industry. Our growing suite of AI solutions spans ambient AI clinical documentation, provider copilots, autonomous coding, revenue cycle management and more — all designed for providers & administrators to focus on what matters most : providing care.

Healthcare is a $4.5 trillion industry with more than $500 billion spent annually on administrative costs, and Commure is at the heart of transforming it. We power over 500,000 clinicians across hundreds of care sites nationwide – more than $10 billion flows through our systems and we support over 100 million patient interactions. With new product launches on the horizon, expansion into additional care segments, and a bold vision to tackle healthcare's most pressing challenges, our ambition is to move from upstart innovator to the industry standard over the next few years.

Commure was recently named to Fortune’s Future 50 list for 2025 and is backed by world-class investors including General Catalyst, Sequoia, Y Combinator, Lux, Human Capital, 8VC, Greenoaks Capital, Elad Gil, and more. Commure has achieved over 300% year-over-year growth for the past two years and this is only the beginning. Healthcare's moment for AI-powered transformation is here, and we're building the technology to power it. Come join us in shaping the future of healthcare.

About the Role

The Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) Product Team at Commure + Athelas powers the core operating system for our practices. Our product—Insights—provides practice staff and administrators with everything they need to efficiently manage their practice’s operations. We maintain 150+ customer-facing features, ranging from high-level reports and visualizations to workflow automation tools to help the staff boost their practice’s revenue.

As a Staff Fullstack Engineer, you will play a key role in scaling and maintaining our website’s infrastructure, ensuring a seamless user experience as we grow to support thousands of practices nationwide.

Beyond development, this role will help define the technical direction of Insights’ architecture, shaping how and where services are built and deployed. You’ll help foster a culture of continuous improvement, enhancing the reliability, scalability, and performance of our web applications while elevating the technical skills of the entire engineering organization.

What You’ll Do

Drive the technical direction of our practice management platform, Insights, ensuring it scales to support thousands of practices and millions of users

Design, build, and maintain scalable full-stack solutions using ReactJS, Python, and PostgreSQL

Improve system reliability and observability by implementing best practices in monitoring, logging, and alerting

Optimize performance and scalability of our web applications, ensuring seamless user experiences as we rapidly expand

Collaborate with infrastructure and backend teams to ensure high availability and resilience of core functions

Mentor and guide engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning

Lead and deliver high-impact projects, balancing speed and quality in a fast-paced, high-ownership environment

Conduct in-depth code reviews, uphold best practices, and drive architectural improvements across the stack

Work closely with product and design teams to build intuitive, user-friendly experiences for healthcare providers and staff

What You Have

Required

8+ years of professional software development experience, with a focus on building scalable full-stack applications

Proficiency in full-stack development with expertise in JavaScript (React / Vue), Python, and PostgreSQL

Strong architectural skills with experience designing and maintaining highly scalable, reliable, and performant web applications

Experience leading multi-month, high-impact projects, balancing trade-offs, and delivering results in a fast-paced environment

Deep understanding of modern front-end engineering—React fundamentals, performance optimization, state management, and component-driven design

Experience working with complex backend systems, including designing APIs and optimizing database performance

Strong debugging and problem-solving skills, with a focus on observability (monitoring, logging, and alerting best practices)

Ability to mentor engineers and drive technical excellence across the organization

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively present technical concepts to leadership and cross-functional teams

Preferred

Experience scaling front-end applications in a fast-growing, high-traffic environment

Deep understanding of frontend performance optimizations and ability to diagnose bottlenecks in React applications

Strong product intuition with a track record of influencing UX / UI decisions to improve usability

Background in data visualization and building interactive dashboards for analytics-heavy applications

Experience with developer tooling and CI / CD pipelines for frontend applications

Familiarity with modern API design patterns (GraphQL, REST, gRPC) and best practices in backend-for-frontend (BFF) architectures

Contributions to open-source projects or a strong engineering blog presence

Experience working in highly regulated industries (finance, insurance, government) with a focus on security and compliance

A passion for improving healthcare and healthcare operations in America

If you're excited about shaping the technical foundations of a high-impact healthcare startup, we'd love to hear from you!
