Do you have a heart for helping others-and a soft spot for animals? Join our Pet Peace of Mind volunteer team and support hospice patients by caring for their beloved pets during a vulnerable time in their lives.

Position : Hospice Volunteer - Pet Peace of Mind

🐶 What You'll Do :

Our Pet Peace of Mind volunteers provide comfort and peace of mind to hospice patients by helping care for their pets when they are no longer able to do so themselves. You'll play a vital role in preserving the bond between patients and their furry companions.

Tasks May Include :

Walking dogs and cleaning up after them

Feeding pets and refreshing water bowls

Providing companionship and playtime

Transporting pets to veterinary or grooming appointments

Helping with light pet-related chores (cleaning litter boxes, tidying pet areas)

Offering emotional support through conversations and friendly visits with patients

Along with caring for Pets, you are also able to offer friendly visits to Hospice patients as well

• Visits may include the following activities :
• Conversation
• Respite Care
• Prepare snack
• Reminisce & look at photos
• Review current events
• Read the newspaper, books, or magazines.
• Write letters
• Provide appointment reminders
• Chronicle life experiences
• Assist with recreational activities
• Take Walks
• Participate in crafts
• Do Puzzles
• Listen to music
• Play Board Games / Cards
• Watch movies / TV shows

Knowledge and skills required for the position are :

No hands-on medical care is required or permitted-this role is strictly non-clinical and supportive.
