Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license (North Carolina or compact state)

Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Room (ER) nursing experience required

BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS certifications preferred

Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills

Excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal abilities

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-acuity emergency healthcare environment

ER Nurse Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department, including assessment, planning, and implementation of nursing interventions

Monitor and respond to changes in patient conditions, delivering timely and effective emergency interventions

Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and multidisciplinary healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes

Administer medications, treatments, and emergency procedures as ordered

Educate patients and families on care plans, discharge instructions, and emergency care protocols

Maintain accurate documentation and uphold hospital policies, safety, and quality standards
