Job description

The Project Engineer is a direct-hire position working at the HGA office in the Charlotte, NC region.

The Project Engineer performs standardized or prescribed assignments involving a sequence of related operations under the supervision of a Project Manager. The Project Engineer provides technical management assistance on projects. Assist in budgeting, man powering, scheduling, and forecasting projects as directed by a Project Manager. Manage small projects or certain aspects within large projects / programs with minimum supervision of a Project Manager.

  • Participate in the planning and implementation of projects
  • Assists in defining project scopes, goals, and deliverables
  • Assists in defining project tasks and resource requirements
  • Assists in developing full scale project plans
  • Assemble and coordinate project staff for specific tasks
  • Manage small project or task budgets
  • Manage project resource allocation for assigned tasks
  • Assist in planning and scheduling project timelines
  • Track project deliverables using appropriate tools and report to Project Manager
  • Provide limited direction and support to project team
  • Quality assurance
  • Constantly monitor and report on progress of the project / assigned tasks
  • Present reports defining project progress, problems, and solutions
  • Assist in implementing and managing project changes and interventions to achieve project outputs
  • Project set-up
  • Development of proposals under the supervision of a Project Manager
  • Participate in client on-site reviews

Requirements :

Project Engineer Qualifications :

  • BS degree in an Engineering field (i.e., Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil / Structural, Industrial Engineering, Construction Management, or Management)
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in an industrial facility is required; prior structured capital project development / execution and / or construction experience is preferred
  • Pulp & Paper industry experience preferred.
  • Good writing and communication skills; excellent Computer Skills.
  • Candidates must be able to travel as needed to client locations, and be able to actively work within all areas of client industrial facilities.
  • Candidates should be within daily commuting distance of the Charlotte, NC region.
