Responsibilities :

Generate story ideas through research of social media, news wires, websites, and contacts

Identify impactful news stories that result in provocative, compelling television

Delegate responsibilities to associate producers, assignment editors, and video editors

Produce timely content under heavy deadline pressure

Stay current on local events and politics

Attend editorial meetings

Excel in a deadline-driven environment

Possess strong writing skills, including tease writing

Use sound editorial judgment and attention to detail

Interact with viewers and users on social media

Work varying shifts, including nights, overnights, and weekends

Perform other duties as assigned

Position Requirements :

Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, business, or related field (preferred)

Strong writing and organizational skills

Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently

Attention to detail

Ability to analyze data and ensure accuracy

Experience in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment

Understanding of show timing and field production experience (a plus)

Strong communication skills (written and verbal)

Proactive and solutions-focused attitude

Professional appearance

Willingness to work varying shifts, including nights and weekends
