Respiratory Therapist Lead FT Nights Position Summary

Coordinates functions and activities related to a single departmental function and may provide limited supervision and / or shift supervision related to office and clerical functions. This position's primary responsibilities are to the Cardiopulmonary Dept. / Cardiovascular surgical service. Daily activities include, but are not limited to the independent placement of peripheral IV lines and Arterial lines. Additionally, they assist the physician in the preparation of all others invasive line monitoring, including the handling of sterile supplies and maintenance of a therapeutic environment that supports the goal of excellence in patient care. Position may also perform CRT duties.

SPECIAL SKILLS :  Excellent customer service skills.

THE RESPIRATORY THERAPIST LEAD FT NIGHTS CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING EDUCATION, LICENSE / CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE.

MINIMUM EDUCATION : Completion of formal two year respiratory education program which meets requirements for certification (CRT) and registration (RRT).

PREFERRED EDUCATION : Associates Degree in Applied Science preferred.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE : 3 years experience in acute care setting. Previous training and experience specific to the task designated under responsibilities / expected outcomes.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE : 1 year in a surgical environment or 5 years critical care.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS / LICENSURE : Licensed Registered Respiratory Therapist in the State of Arizona and CPR. As required by facility : ACLS, PALS and NRP required within 12 months of employment.
