Summary :
We are seeking a dedicated Phlebotomist responsible for performing essential duties including specimen collection, receiving, and referrals in a professional healthcare setting.

 - Adhere to all regulatory standards, including CAP, JCAHO, OSHA, and infection control guidelines, safeguarding patient health information.
 - Maintain cleanliness and organization of the collection area and restock supplies as needed.
 - Collaborate with the team lead to procure necessary departmental supplies.
 - Perform a variety of specimen collection methods including venipuncture, capillary collection, urine drug screens, skin tests, and cultures.
 - Verify compliance with specimen requirements to maintain integrity during collection.
 - Exhibit strong communication skills while interacting with patients, family members, nurses, physicians, and colleagues.
 - Utilize the laboratory computer system for documenting specimen information, patient registration, order entries, and other tasks.
 - Engage in additional duties as needed, including standby / on-call shifts, inventory management, cross-training, and special projects.
 - Completes performance evaluations and competency assessments for associates in a timely manner.
 
Job Requirements : Education / Skills
High School diploma or equivalent preferred.Bilingual (English / Spanish) preferred.Completion of a Phlebotomy, Medical Laboratory, or Medical Assistant program that includes phlebotomy is preferred.Familiarity with medical terminology, data entry, and organizational skills are essential.Experience
Preferred : One year of phlebotomy experience.Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) preferred.Phlebotomy Tech (PBT) certification or state licensure is preferred if in Louisiana.All associates are required to obtain necessary certifications for their positions within designated timeframes in accordance with the CHRISTUS Health License, Certification and Registration Verification Policy.
Work Schedule : 5 Days - 8 Hours
