Director of Artificial Intelligence Governance

Summary :

The Director of AI Governance leads the development, implementation, and oversight of responsible AI practices across the organization. This role ensures that AI systems are ethical, transparent, compliant with relevant regulations, and aligned with the organization's values. The Director collaborates with cross-functional teams to embed governance into AI initiatives and mitigate associated risks.

Key Duties and Responsibilities :

• Governance Framework Development :

Design and implement comprehensive AI governance frameworks, policies, and standards.

Monitor AI models and applications for ethical compliance.

Partner with legal, compliance, IT, and data teams to align governance strategies.

Develop and deliver training programs on responsible AI practices.

Implement mechanisms to monitor AI performance and ethical compliance.

Advise senior leadership on AI governance trends and risks.

Skills and Competencies :

Qualifications :

Licensing and Certifications (Preferred but Not Always Required) :

Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP).

No specific licensing is universally required, but legal or compliance roles may benefit from bar admission or similar credentials, depending on jurisdiction.
