Overview
Precision Impacts is looking for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to own the programming, tooling, and setup of our CNC lathes and Fanuc RoboDrills. This is a hands-on engineering role where youll be directly responsible for ensuring our machining processes are efficient, repeatable, and capable of producing precision parts to tight tolerances. The ideal candidate is an engineer who thrives on the shop floor, understands machining fundamentals, and can drive improvements in both manual and automated production environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, optimize, and maintain CNC programs for CNC lathes and RoboDrills .
- Own the tooling process from selection and setup sheets to standardization and life-cycle management.
- Support robotic integration, part handling, and in-process gaging tied to Fanuc automation.
- Conduct process prove-outs, dry runs, and first-article validation.
- Troubleshoot machining issues and provide technical support to operators.
- Continuously improve cycle times, tool life, and process robustness.
- Collaborate with Quality Engineering to ensure compliance with prints, GD&T, and customer requirements.
- Contribute to lean manufacturing and automation initiatives.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent hands-on experience).3+ years of CNC with Haas CNC lathes (programming + setup required).Experience with Fanuc programming (RoboDrills and / or Fanuc robots).Strong knowledge of G-code / M-code, tooling, and fixturing for aluminum and steel.Proficiency with CAM software (Fusion 360, Mastercam, or similar).Solid understanding of GD&T, blueprint reading, and machining tolerances.Ability to troubleshoot issues at the machine and work directly with operators.Familiarity with SPC, CMM inspection, and process capability analysis is a plus.What We Offer
