ICU RN Job Details Location : Asheville, North Carolina Unit : Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CICU) Assignment Length : 13-week travel contract Hours per Week : 36 Shift : 12-hour nights (7 : 00 PM – 7 : 00 AM), alternating weekends Setting : On-site hospital Number of Beds : 16-bed CICU Patient Ratios : 2 : 1 or 1 : 1 (occasionally 3 : 1 based on acuity) Documentation System : Cerner EMR Estimated Weekly Pay : $1630-$1750 ICU Registered Nurse Qualifications Active RN license in North Carolina or compact state (required for travel nursing jobs) Minimum 1 year of recent ICU nursing experience Proficient in titration of vesicant medications, pressors, sedation, paralytics, ventilators, tracheostomies, and telemetry interpretation Strong understanding of hemodynamics and PA catheter setup / interpretation Experience with transvenous pacing, cardioversion, TEE, and chest tube insertion / maintenance Advanced clinical skills such as IABP, Impella, and CRRT preferred CCRN certification recommended (not required) ICU RN Responsibilities Provide high-quality, compassionate care to critically ill patients in the CICU Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and hemodynamic parameters Administer and titrate critical medications; manage advanced life support equipment Assist with procedures : cardioversion, central line insertion, EGD, bronchoscopy, chest tube insertions, pericardiocentesis, thoracentesis Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams for optimal patient outcomes Float to other ICU areas as needed Comply with hospital policies, procedures, and dress code (navy or navy / white scrubs) Discover rewarding healthcare jobs in Asheville, NC—where your nursing expertise meets mountain living.
