Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines drivetrains suspension systems brakes and electrical components on light- medium- or heavy-duty vehicles.
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections in accordance with dealership and manufacturer guidelines.
- Utilize factory diagnostic tools equipment and software to accurately identify issues and complete repairs.
- Complete repair orders efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
- Communicate with service advisors regarding required repairs additional work and estimated completion times.
- Document all work performed in compliance with dealership and manufacturer requirements.
- Participate in manufacturer training programs and maintain up-to-date certifications.
- Maintain a clean organized and safe workspace.
- Assist other technicians and support teamwork across the service department.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training in diesel technology preferred.2 years of hands-on experience as a diesel technician (dealership experience strongly preferred).Familiarity with manufacturer diagnostic software and repair protocols (e.g. Cummins INSITE Ford IDS GM GDS2 etc.).Strong knowledge of diesel engines fuel systems hydraulics and electrical diagnostics.Valid drivers license; CDL or state inspection license a plus.ASE or OEM certifications preferred (or willingness to obtain).Skills & Attributes
