Responsibilities
- Assist in the operation, maintenance, and monitoring of data center HVAC systems and supporting infrastructure with minimal supervision.
- Perform all duties of an HVAC Technician I, while gaining experience in advanced troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and shop drawings to support system diagnostics and repairs.
- Assist with air and water balancing to optimize energy use and maintain occupant comfort.
- Support routine and emergency maintenance and repairs on a variety of HVAC equipment, including :
Air and water-cooled reciprocating chillers
Centrifugal and screw package chillersNatural gas boilers and unit heatersElectric duct heatersCooling towersPneumatic, DDC, and Variable Frequency Drive controlsAir distribution systems (AHUs, FCUs, fans, and related devices)Various types of water pumps used in HVAC applicationsTravel up to 30% as required for site support and training.Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.Maintain regular and reliable attendance.Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED requiredMinimum of 3 years of commercial HVAC service experience required; 4 years preferredKnowledge of refrigeration principlesStrong understanding of basic electricity for HVAC and proficiency with diagnostic tools and instrumentsProficiency with Microsoft Office or related softwareHVAC / R Servicing Certificate (preferred)EPA Universal refrigerant recovery certification (preferred)Must be a U.S. citizen (ability to obtain security clearance preferred)Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds
