Job Summary

Reporting to the Associate Director of Career Development, the Career Development Coach will apply industry-specific knowledge in performing career advising and placement duties with Isenberg School of Management students in order to further student career and professional development outcomes. The primary focus will be on students seeking professional-level internships and / or permanent placement career outcomes in a wide variety of corporate or non-profit organizations.

Essential Functions

• Advises students, in one-on-one meetings, workshops or small group settings, on conducting focused career searches. Develops learning tools which support student learning.
• Maintains and distributes information regarding current employer placement opportunities.
• Performs research on key industry hiring trends and opportunities affecting business school students and provide information to students, and upon request, to faculty and administration.
• Supports student preparation for job search by reviewing student resumes, conducting practice interviews, and providing guidance to students which helps them target potential employers by industry.
• Facilitates individual career development skills including self-assessment, business correspondence, professional networking, business etiquette, interviewing, negotiations, and other professional skills.
• Provides counseling to students to develop, refine and implement an appropriate and realistic job search strategy for different industry segments.
• Participates in and supports the coordination of Chase Career Center programs, workshops, job search advising activities, and school-wide events.
