Unit Overview :
Join our 24-bed Neurosurgical Unit , caring for a complex and diverse patient population, including :
Post-operative patients from craniotomies for bleed evacuation, AVMs, and tumor resections.Patients recovering from cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine surgeries.Individuals affected by hemorrhagic and ischemic strokes as part of our Comprehensive Stroke Program.A high volume of cervical and spinal surgery patients and medical overflow cases.As part of the Aurora Neuroscience Innovation Institute (ANII) , you’ll work with the latest neurosurgical techniques and provide cutting-edge care.

Utilize the nursing process to assess patient needs, develop interventions, and evaluate care effectiveness.Recognize and respond to significant changes in patient conditions; adjust care plans as needed.Implement strategies to enhance patient safety and engagement in their learning.Coordinate discharge planning through interdisciplinary collaboration.Evaluate outcomes and engage in shared governance to improve processes and results.Effectively communicate and collaborate with healthcare team members, demonstrating leadership and appropriate delegation.Support a culture of safety; report any safety events timely.Practice ethical decision-making while respecting peers and all disciplines.Engage in quality improvement initiatives for department and patient care enhancement.Participate in professional growth opportunities and complete required training timely.Demonstrate the ability to provide age-appropriate care based on each patient's needs.Licensure, Registration, and / or Certification Required :
Registered Nurse license in the state of practice.Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.Education Required :
Completion of an accredited or approved nursing program.Experience Required :
Typically requires 1 year of clinical nursing experience.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required :
