We are looking for a highly motivated Controller to lead our accounting and financial operations in Avon, New York. This role is essential in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining robust internal controls, and providing strategic guidance to optimize the company’s financial health. The Controller will oversee a team of five professionals, manage day-to-day accounting activities, and work closely with operations to support organizational growth.

Responsibilities :
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Manage inventory processes, including coordinating month-end physical inventory counts and recording adjustments.
- Oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable functions, ensuring timely payments and proper reconciliation.
- Monitor daily banking activities, manage debt service, and prepare borrowing base reports to meet banking requirements.
- Develop and execute budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses to track financial performance and support decision-making.
- Supervise fixed asset accounting, including depreciation methods, asset additions and disposals, and compliance with policies.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations by managing filings, estimated payments, and addressing tax notices.
- Collaborate with the payroll team to oversee payroll journal entries and confidential payroll processes.
- Continuously review and improve accounting systems and processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Provide strategic financial insights and analysis to support the company’s operational and growth objectives.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or financial management, with supervisory responsibilities.
- Proficiency in month-end close processes, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Strong understanding of fixed asset accounting, including depreciation methods and ledger management.
- Proven ability to manage inventory processes, accounts receivable, and accounts payable functions.
- Experience in preparing financial statements and management reports with analytics.
- Knowledge of tax compliance processes, including filings and estimated payments.
- Familiarity with banking requirements, debt management, and cash controls.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.
