Job Summary
Working on both projects and bid proposals, the Process Engineer is responsible for the process design of equipment systems or parts thereof.
Responsibilities
- Develop a process design that meets proposal or project requirements.
- Ensure design-phase outputs are delivered in line with schedule and quality requirements.
- Provide technical support regarding process design throughout project and bid lifecycles.
- Undertake other technical tasks as required (e.g., site surveys, feasibility studies, sales support).
Principal Duties
Guarantee safety, environmental compliance, adherence to legislation, and customer contractual requirements.Generate process solutions and define characteristics such as process flowsheets, P&ID diagrams, equipment specifications, equipment lists, process descriptions, functional design specifications, operating instructions, KPIs, product input / output requirements, and utilities.Adhere to SPX Flow procedures, applicable design standards, and use appropriate tools to support calculations.Complete design calculations (e.g., pipe diameter sizing, pump sizing, thermal calculations) and ensure tasks meet schedule, quality, and budget.Own design outputs, maintain consistent documentation standards, integrate subsystems, manage interfaces, and consider economic factors.Communicate technical discussions with customers and suppliers, attend project meetings, communicate information to stakeholders, support other disciplines during design phase, and provide installation and commissioning support.Document process operating instructions, capture design information in a structured manner, compile Operating & Maintenance manuals, spares lists, and technical files.Support sales activities : pre-contact customer meetings, feasibility studies, and quotation reviews.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Fluent in English (spoken and written).Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Ability to work on multiple tasks within a matrix environment and build relationships across functions and sites.Independent, results-oriented, high performance standards, and ethical integrity.Education & Experience
Degree in Process, Chemical, or Mechanical engineering.3-5 years of engineering design experience in dairy, food, beverage, pharmaceutical, or other hygienic industries.Understanding of hygienic design principles, clean-in-place (CIP) systems, and UHT processes.Experience leading a technically oriented team and proficiency with Microsoft Office; AutoCAD and SAP experience are beneficial.Physical Demands
Office-based work with substantial computer use; travel to SPX locations and customer sites up to 30%; occasional extended away work may be required.
Working Conditions

Salary Range
Anticipated salary range : $82,400 to $114,500 per year.
