The following position is to join our Enterprise Services team :

RTX Enterprise Services Real Estate Solutions has an opening for a Facilities Engineer specializing in Fire Protection Systems. The position is located in the Andover MA facility but also includes responsibilities for other local NH and MA this role you will manage the fire protection systems to ensure that all fire alarm fire prevention and suppression systems are compliant and at the highest state of readiness. Interfaces with customers contractors supply chain planning account managers maintenance finance environmental health & safety security and design engineering to complete tasks.

The role is also responsible for the conceptual design detailed design contracting installation contracting and acceptance testing of various fire protection systems. It is also responsible for the coordination and implementation of Factory Mutual Insurance Programs and company protocols specifically related to maintaining RTX fire protection programs.

What You Will do :

  • Act as the SME (Subject Matter Expert) of Fire Protection Systems
  • Be responsible for meeting RTX policies and procedures Federal State and Local fire codes and building regulations.
  • Provide technical support to management teammates and trades personnel.
  • Provide system operations and response training to facilities and security personnel.
  • Support and coordinate all fire life safety systems regulatory requests and activities for local state federal and other regulatory agencies.
  • Be involved in system evaluations and create recommendations to senior management based on schedule cost applicable codes and system research.
  • Review fire protection drawings for compliance with NFPA FM and RTX / Raytheon directives
  • Provide team leadership based on your technical knowledge and ability to routinely develop cost effective solutions over a range of complex issues while ensuring solutions are innovative and consistent with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Perform work with minimal direction and communicate well with team members management Security EHSS internal customers bargaining unit outside contractors and vendors.
  • Liaison with local fire departments
  • Ability to work nights and weekends as required for operational needs and on-call response duties

Qualifications You Must Have

  • This role typically requires a bachelors degree in an applicable field and 5 years of relevant experience or an advanced degree and 3 years relevant lieu of a degree 9 years of relevant applicable experience may be considered
  • This role requires one of the following Massachusetts Low Voltage licenses : A B C or D
  • This position requires a minimum of 5 years experience in leading building infrastructure
  • At least 5 years experience and field knowledge of fire alarm systems and knowledge of specialty fire protection suppression systems
  • At least 5 years experience with an understanding of State of Massachusetts National Building NFPA codes and Factory Mutual (FM) data sheets
  • Qualifications We Prefer :

  • Project Management experience
  • Prior experience in the development of new concepts techniques and standards as well as experience in developing solutions to complex problems.
  • Candidate shall have strong interpersonal and organizational skills and be capable of communicating with customers both orally and in writing.
  • Experience consulting with management on fire system maintenance and repair issues.
  • Solid computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word Excel Project Outlook) and EDS ( electronic drawing systems) AutoCAD .

    The salary range for this role is 82000 USD - 164000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education / training and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including but not limited to individual performance business unit performance and / or the companys performance.

    This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
