The Senior Manager - Business Banking Credit Risk Strategy develops and maintains risk decision-support strategies using analytical solutions to enable high-quality, fact-based decisions for a designated risk portfolio. Supports the development of the strategy and roadmap for data quality, data analytics, data modeling, reporting, business intelligence, and the design and development of sophisticated decision support tools.
Responsibilities include : understanding the key drivers of losses and P&L, their relative importance, and the current trends; applying this knowledge effectively to forecast losses meaningfully and accurately; analyzing underlying model outputs relative to other business; reconciling detailed financial data from disparate data sources; presenting the findings to various key stakeholders and senior management; holding discussions with and presenting to various review and challenge teams, internal and external auditors, and regulators; ensuring best in class governance and documentation practices; driving process efficiencies through automation; fostering a culture aligned to BMO purpose, values, and strategy; ensuring alignment between values and behavior that fosters diversity and inclusion; regularly connecting work to BMO's purpose; setting inspirational goals; defining clear expected outcomes; ensuring clear accountability for follow through; building interdependent teams; attracting, retaining, and enabling the career development of top talent; improving team performance; providing strategic input into business decisions; making recommendations to senior leaders; acting as a subject matter expert; networking with industry contacts; interpreting new regulations; influencing and negotiating; identifying emerging issues and trends; recommending business priorities; advising on resource requirements; developing a roadmap for strategic execution; managing resources; leading the execution of strategic initiatives; measuring the effectiveness of risk decision strategy management framework; conducting independent analysis and assessment; leading the development and maintenance of the risk strategy management framework; representing the decision strategy function; ensuring alignment between stakeholders; designing and producing reports and dashboards; developing and managing information management systems; defining business requirements for analytics and reporting; breaking down strategic problems; leading change management programs; leading the execution of operational programs; leading and integrating the monitoring; measuring and reporting on the status of the risk decision strategy performance; leading the management of governance meetings; providing specialized support for other regulatory requirements; leading in the design, implementation, and management of core business processes; developing and maintaining risk strategies; supporting the planning and execution of the change management process; providing advice and guidance; developing and maintaining in-depth knowledge; working with stakeholders; building effective relationships; and summarizing statistical findings.
Qualifications include : typically 7+ years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience; in-depth product knowledge; in-depth knowledge of risk management theory, processes, and portfolio management reporting techniques; in-depth knowledge of modeling and analytics concepts and applications; in-depth knowledge of risk systems technology; in-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements; seasoned professional with a combination of education, experience, and industry knowledge; verbal and written communication skills; analytical and problem solving skills; influence skills; collaboration and team skills; ability to manage ambiguity; and data driven decision making.
Salary : $102,000.00 - $190,000.00. The above represents BMO Financial Group's pay range and type. Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group's expected target for the first year in this position. BMO Financial Group's total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
