Job description

A banquet houseman is a hospitality worker who supports banquet and event operations by setting up, maintaining, and breaking down banquet spaces and meeting rooms. They ensure these areas are clean, organized, and properly equipped for events, working to deliver a seamless experience for guests.

Key Responsibilities :

Setup and Breakdown :

Setting up tables, chairs, stages, dance floors, and audio / visual equipment according to event specifications. This includes returning equipment to its proper storage location after events.

Maintaining Cleanliness :

Ensuring banquet and meeting rooms, hallways, and service areas are clean, sanitized, and organized.

This may involve tasks like vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, and removing trash.

Equipment Maintenance :

Ensuring all equipment is in working order and reporting any defects to the appropriate personnel.

Guest Service :

Providing assistance to guests with questions or requests, and ensuring their needs are met during events.

Communication :

Communicating effectively with supervisors, other team members, and guests.

Physical Stamina : The ability to lift heavy furniture and equipment, stand for extended periods, and perform physically demanding tasks.

Organizational Skills : The ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and maintain order in a fast-paced environment.
