Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A full-time position is available for a Teacher for the Visually Impaired to serve students in grades K-12 in Sahuarita, AZ, for the 2025-2026 school year. This itinerant role involves working under a contracted CSY arrangement, providing specialized support across multiple district sites.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Conduct in-person evaluations, including Functional Vision and initial assessments.
  • Provide direct instruction aligned with individual IEP goals for students with visual impairments.
  • Support assistive technology needs and collaborate with school teams to develop effective educational plans.
  • Schedule and facilitate meetings for evaluations and IEP development.
  • plete all required documentation related to evaluations, IEPs, and monitor student progress.
  • Travel reliably between school locations within district boundaries; therefore, dependable transportation is required.

Qualifications and Experience :

  • Certification or licensure as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired.
  • Experience pleting evaluations and writing IEPs specific to visual impairment.
  • Ability to conduct Functional Vision assessments.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage paperwork, meetings, and student case follow-ups.
