Job description

Job Description

The Research Programmer Analyst supports research programming and data requirements, and performs maintenance, support and troubleshooting of analytic and simulation programs and databases for this department. This individual participates in enhancement and development projects, systems configuration and testing. The analyst is understanding and responsive to end-user requirements; manages tables, work files and develops forms and reports. Performs daily system production and operation support. This job is to be used only for in research areas. This Job has a high degree of independence.

Qualifications

BA / BS in computer science or equivalent training / experience.

Prior experience in supporting application maintenance activities; working knowledge of PC and PC-based programs.

Responsibilities

Builds and configures applications / analysis / simulations in accordance with requirements and appropriately documents activities.

Responsible for regular reviewing and updating programs, data dictionaries, tables, work files and user profiles; generates reports as requested.

Consults with colleagues to clarify program intent and refine / improve current applications.

Assists Principal investigators or technical leads as required.

Performs other related duties.

Skillsets :

Should be proficient in C / C++, experience with Python preferred.

Preferred : experience working with Linux clusters.

Skilled in sharing reproducible analyses and notebooks via GitHub, using Git for project tracking and collaborative research

Compensation Statement

Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $58824 - $88236 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses / incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
