About the Role
The Company is seeking an Associate General Counsel to provide strategic legal counsel on a range of complex issues, including research agreements, intellectual property, regulatory compliance, and federal contracting. The successful candidate will be a key partner to researchers, government agencies, and industry leaders, helping to navigate the legal landscape of advanced technologies in various fields. Applicants must have a J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited law school, an active license to practice law in Ohio or the ability to gain admission to the Ohio bar within one year, and at least 9 years of relevant experience. The role requires a candidate with a strong background in legal research, writing, and the negotiation of contracts, particularly those related to sponsored research. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, an excellent problem solver, and a team player. Responsibilities also include providing legal and regulatory advice on commercial transactions, business operations, research compliance, data security, and privacy, as well as other pertinent state and federal laws and regulations. The position demands a professional who is adept at managing a variety of legal issues and is prepared to take on a leadership role in this capacity.
