Your Role as a Special Education Teacher

Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to each student's academic strengths, learning style, and social-emotional goals.

Use the Collaborative & Proactive Solutions (CPS) model to identify lagging skills, teach coping strategies, and help students navigate challenges with empathy.

Integrate skill-building into daily routines to enhance communication, problem-solving, and organization.

Partner with school counselors, related service providers, and families to ensure cohesive support for every student.

Create a structured, predictable environment that promotes trust, curiosity, and resilience.
