Geospatial Analyst II

Axiom is seeking a Geospatial Analyst II to sup port the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administrations (NOAA) Office for Coastal Management (OCM) by performing processing quality assurance documentation and management of remote sensing and geospatial data and services. The position will be located in the Charleston SC office.

The successful candidate will serve as a geospatial analyst in OCMs Science and Geospatial Services Division assisting with the review production and management of remote sensing and geospatial data . The incumbent will work primarily on land cover data and analyses but will also work with imagery Lidar data and Digital Elevation Models.

Core responsibilities include but are not limited to :

• Quality assurance of land cover datasets
• Assisting with direct land cover data classification and development from lidar aerial and satellite imagery
• Compiling and processing ancillary data in support of land cover quality assurance or data development
• Running automated tasks for creating land cover-related datasets
• Assisting with publishing and managing map services
• Writing metadata records
• Assisting with the development of derivative products (ex. Storymaps web apps)
• Assisting with the update and quality assurance of the new land cover change visualization and analysis
