License : RN License Certifications : BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have : Experience with trauma patients, stroke patients, and performing neuro checks. Description : Start date needed : 12 / 23. Level II Trauma Center with air flight capabilities. General bed capacity : 411. Patient care will involve trauma level 2 patients. Experience required for neuro strokes, stable craniotomies, CIWA, and seizure precautions. Medical / Surgical experience includes respiratory illnesses such as COVID, flu, pneumonia, and long-term tracheostomy care. Experience with respiratory failure requiring Bipap or high flow oxygen, COPD exacerbation, and post-operative general surgery is essential. The patient ratio for RN will be 1 : 3-4 (days and nights). The tech ratio will be 1 : 6-12 depending on staffing. Charge experience is preferred but not required. Support staff includes CNA, resource nurse, respiratory therapist, and hospitalist available 24 / 7. Ideal candidates should possess skills in high flow O2 administration, chest tubes, and wound vacs. Experience with tracheostomy patients on ventilators is also required. Cardiac skills needed include the management of temporary pacemakers, post-femoral sheath care, and cardiac rhythm interpretation. Management of cardiac drips and adjusting insulin titration is essential. Floating to ED, ICU, and CCU may occur as assigned. Weekend rotation is every other weekend. There may be low census call back requirements. Holiday expectations vary based on unit needs. Scrub color must be professional.
