An Addiction Medicine Clinic is seeking a family medicine nurse practitioner for locum tenens coverage.

About the Facility Location

The facility is located 30 minutes from New Haven, CT.

About the Clinician's Workday

Credentialing takes about two weeks and requires a physical, background check, and drug screen. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.-4 p.m. The role includes 24 / 7 phone call coverage, primarily to address medication orders, new admission approvals, or withdrawal complications. Providers typically see 5-10 patients per day, all adults aged 18 and older. Required certifications include a valid DEA, Connecticut license, and BLS and / or ACLS certification. Support staff includes LPNs, nursing staff, and social workers. The ideal candidate will handle patient intakes for active withdrawal, have prior substance recovery experience, and be skilled in managing acute withdrawal syndromes (alcohol, opioid, benzodiazepine, etc.), while providing compassionate, patient-centered care focused on dignity and safety.
