The Minister of Music plays a vital role in the spiritual life of our African American church. This position involves fostering a collaborative environment and enhancing worship experiences through music. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and the ability to communicate effectively to teach music (in parts) and direct choirs.

Responsibilities

• Plan, practice and play appropriate music for worship services and special events, and community gatherings.
• Mentor and educate choir members, musicians, and volunteers in musical techniques and spiritual growth.
• Communicate effectively with church leadership to align music ministry with overall church vision and goals.
• Collaborate with other ministries to integrate music into various church activities.
• Provide music during significant life events such as weddings, funerals, and baptisms.
