Job Summary and Qualifications

As a PCU Registered Nurse (RN), you will perform patient assessments, design personalized care plans, and implement and evaluate care processes. Working collaboratively with an interdisciplinary care team, you will ensure the safe and effective delivery of care.

Your responsibilities will include :

  • Formulating and adjusting care plans based on patient responses to treatment.
  • Consulting with and collaborating among a multidisciplinary team to develop, assess, and update care plans tailored to the patient’s needs.
  • Administering medications and performing treatments according to hospital protocols.
  • Delegating tasks appropriately to non-licensed staff in compliance with practice standards.
  • Providing educational materials to patients and families regarding treatments and care.
  • Facilitating discharge planning in partnership with the care team.
  • Requirements

    Experience

    Minimum of 1 year as a Registered Nurse (RN); experience in an acute care setting is preferred.

    Education

    Associate's Degree in Nursing is required; a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.

    License and Certifications

    Current State of Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact Registered Nursing License (if using a Compact License, Texas license must be obtained within 90 days of hire).

    Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be completed per St. David's Healthcare policy.

    Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification required within 12 months of hire.

    Annual NIHSS certification required within 90 days of hire.
