Job Overview :

The Revenue Accounting Manager will have the capabilities to coordinate Alogents (the Company) revenue recognition practices across its customer base ensuring that the company accurately and efficiently records revenue including subscription, license, support, professional services, annual renewals, and one-off adjustments.

This position requires the ability to work, adapt and evolve in a fast-paced environment, often working under tight deadlines, changing requirements, and teams in multiple time zones. Dedication, quick thinking, good decision-making, and a high sense of urgency are critical traits for this role.

This position is located in our Peachtree Corners, GA corporate office.

Responsibilities :

  • Lead the end-to-end revenue accounting process, including billing, revenue recognition, and journal entries for customer contracts.
  • Comprehensive and current understanding of U.S. GAAP revenue recognition guidance, including ASC 606 and company policies.
  • Own and reconcile key balance sheet accounts including Unbilled Revenue, Deferred Revenue and Accounts Receivable.
  • Review and approve billing and revenue schedules for new contracts, renewals, terminations, and amendments.
  • Coordinate monthly and quarterly revenue close activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Develop and implement internal controls and process improvements related to revenue and billing.
  • Partner with Sales Operations and Legal to review contract terms impacting financial treatment.
  • Support external audit requirements and prepare revenue-related audit schedules.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team of billing analysts.
  • Assist with system enhancements and automation initiatives for billing and revenue recognition
  • Ad-hoc projects as assigned.

Qualifications / Experience :

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of Accounting experience. (CPA strongly preferred) 2+ years of in-depth ASC 606 revenue accounting experience including contract review.
  • Experience managing Deferred Revenue and Unbilled Revenue balances.
  • Ability to think through new situations and evaluate data, draw valid conclusions, and effectively present information to management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong analytic ability.
  • System savvy and experience with accounting systems required - experience with Sage Intacct a plus; strong general ledger and finance close experience required.
  • Intermediate level Excel skills; pivot tables, index function, and v-lookups, etc.
