Job Description Summary

Supports the Category Leadership Planning process at strategic customers and provides guidance where directed for other customers. Supports and consults with the customer teams in the development of Customer Category Business Plans.

Job Description

Major Responsibilities :

  • Participates in Category Leadership Planning with strategic customers
  • Enables sales teams to provide category-focused counsel to customers
  • Contributes to cross-functional teams within Lamb Weston and at strategic customers
  • Identifies opportunities and recommended actions by conducting comprehensive analyses of category for strategic customers and account teams
  • Supports new item plans from a category perspective
  • Conducts periodic and annual category reviews incorporating scorecard results
  • Conducts assortment, promotion analysis and other tactical analyses for specific customers
  • Supports the development of sales presentations for account management teams insuring recommendations are category focused
  • Engages with broker space management planning resources for specific customers
  • Conducts shelving and space analyses

Supervision Received : Works under the supervision and guidance from the Manager of Category Leadership

Key Performance Indicators :

  • Financial : Volume, Net Sales and Profit Contribution to Margin, ACV penetration and Market Share growth
  • Leadership in the Support of Sales Drivers : at strategic customers through consistent category reviews, activation of tools to build insights to attain category plan results
  • Collaboration : across functional areas within Lamb Weston and key third party resources
  • Personal Development : through the Lamb Weston Learning Journey
  • Basic & Preferred Qualifications

    Qualifications :

  • Education : Bachelor's degree
  • Experience : 3 years of related industry experience or a related combination of education and experience
  • In addition : In-depth expertise in the use and applications of a variety of technologies and tools, including Microsoft Office Suite, with particular emphasis on Excel; Syndicated data sources (IRI, Nielsen, SPINS); ability to work with raw retailer data, e.g. POS, FSP; space management software (Space Planning, Apollo, Spaceman) a plus.
  • Other Requirements :

  • Up to 20% travel
  • Valid US driver's license and ability to meet Lamb Weston driving standards

  • Financial Management : Ability to understand and apply knowledge of Lamb Weston, specific customer and category business financial drivers, practices and concepts to develop ideas / solutions which produce desired sustainable results Advanced Uses knowledge of Lamb Weston and specific customer business and financial priorities and drivers to produce agreed upon results.
  • Business Planning : Ability to facilitate, develop and implement comprehensive internal / external plans that deliver objectives - Advanced - Develops and implements Category Leadership plans, using strategies and tactics which produce successful results.
  • Analysis & Insights : Developing insights based on an analysis of information and research, which can serve as the basis for decision making, strategy creation and initiatives / solutions, using multiple data sources - Advanced Translates data and information into successful programs.
  • Category & Product Optimization : Using a clear understanding of strategic direction to identify and implement category solutions Advanced Develops and implements segment-specific strategies and tactics to enhance customer value and loyalty to Lamb Weston.
  • Relationship Management : Foster and maintain collaborative relationships with customer to identify opportunities and promote business growth, through a shared understanding of success criteria to achieve current and future business goals - Advanced - Works collaboratively with contacts across the customer's organization.
