Travel Nursing Job Details

Assignment Type : Travel RN Contract

Location : Garnett, KS 66032 (Kansas healthcare jobs)

Start Date : December 1, 2025

End Date : March 2, 2026

Duration : 13-week nursing contract

Shift : Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19 : 00 - 07 : 30)

Hours per Week : 36

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1920-$1970

Patient Population : Adults and Geriatrics

Unit : Med / Surg Telemetry (PCU), 12 beds, average census 5

Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend

Floating : May float to Emergency Department, ACRH, or other units within scope

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent Med / Surg Telemetry RN experience

At least 1 year of in-specialty experience within the past 12 months (no employment gap over 90 days)

Active RN license in Kansas and Missouri or compact nursing license

BLS certification (American Heart Association)

Proficiency with Epic EMR charting system

Clinical skills : Med / Surg Telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation / management, Rapid Response / Code team participation, peripheral line care, oxygen therapy, non-invasive airway management, isolation precautions

Ability to provide two recent references (one supervisor-level or above, one charge RN acceptable)

Flu vaccine required (medical / religious exemptions considered)

Completion of pre-start modules and compliance requirements before start date

Travel nurses must reside at least 75 miles from facility (local candidates not accepted)

Med / Surg Telemetry RN Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a Med / Surg Telemetry unit

Monitor, interpret, and manage cardiac rhythms; respond to changes in patient condition

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (physical therapy, radiology, pharmacy, social services, rapid response)

Administer medications, manage IV lines, and provide oxygen therapy

Maintain accurate documentation using Epic EMR

Follow infection control and isolation protocols

Participate in self-scheduling; work every other weekend as required

Float to other units or departments within scope to support patient care
