Med / Surg RN Job Details Location : Columbia, SC 29203 (South Carolina nursing jobs) Facility Type : Acute Care Hospital – Medical / Surgical Unit (2nd Floor) Assignment Length : 13 weeks Start Date : November 10, 2025 End Date : February 9, 2026 Shift : Nights, 3x12-hour shifts (7 : 00pm – 7 : 00am) Hours per Week : 36 Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend Floating : May be required within scope and between similar units Charting System : Epic Parking : Free with pass Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $1470-$1570 Med / Surg Registered Nurse Qualifications Active South Carolina RN license or Multi-State / Compact Registered Nurse license (pending license with proof of application accepted) Minimum 1 year of recent Medical / Surgical RN experience BLS and ACLS certifications required Experience with Omnicell and Baxter IV Pumps preferred Epic charting experience preferred First-time travel nurses welcome Flu vaccine required (medical / religious exemptions accepted) Ability to work every other weekend and float as needed Med / Surg RN Responsibilities Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with diverse diagnoses, including pre / post-op orthopedic and neurosurgery, pneumonia, heart failure, COPD, sickle cell crisis, cellulitis, and more Administer medications, manage IVs, blood products, and cardiac drips (no titration) Perform wound care, tracheostomy care, and manage surgical drains Monitor telemetry and respond to rapid response / code teams as needed Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, physical therapy, respiratory, pharmacy, social services) Accurately document patient care using Epic EHR Float to similar medical / surgical units as required Discover the welcoming community of Columbia, SC, renowned for its southern hospitality, thriving arts scene, and access to outdoor recreation.
