Team Leader – Milieu Therapist

Position Summary : This role is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the inpatient psychiatry department by supervising and coordinating the clinical aspects of milieu therapy. The Team Leader manages milieu staff, ensures continuous qualified staffing, and leads people and operational responsibilities.
Responsibilities :
- Participate in interview and selection of new team members; administer periodic evaluations, annual merit increases, and performance feedback.
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and disciplinary action as needed, ensuring staff meet patient care standards and safety.
- Manage new hire scheduling, preceptor assignment, and orientation.
- Process personnel actions, balance schedules, approve PTO, and monitor FMLA / STD / LOA usage.
- Ensure unit-based audits, regulatory readiness, PHI protection, infection prevention, and certification status.
- Maintain positive physician relations and management of timecards for payroll.
- Execute unit environmental rounds and maintain evidence-based leadership practices.
How You'll Be Successful :
At least 2 years experience in psychiatry or a related field (child / adolescent therapy preferred).Four-year bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; bachelor's in child psychology, psychology, kinesiology, or healthcare management highly preferred.Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification required.Job Profile :
Supervisor of a team; spend 50% time providing people leadership.Plan and execute day-to-day operational needs.Provide guidance, coaching, feedback; monitor key metrics.Provide technical guidance to others and round with staff.Benefits :
