Job description

Overview

In this high-impact role, you will report to and work closely with the CEO, serve as a key advisor to the leadership team, supervise one direct report, and oversee an outsourced accounting partner. The outgoing CFO has built a strong financial foundation, implementing systems and processes that have positioned our client for the next phase of growth. You will build on that foundation and work across teams to assess funding needs, innovate financial models, and launch capital strategies while ensuring alignment with their mission to improve health equity and outcomes through socio-behavioral analytics and data.

This role requires adaptability, agility, and a proven ability to thrive in a fast-changing environment—prior startup experience is a must. You’ll balance strategic leadership with hands-on execution, using a deep understanding of the healthcare landscape to drive informed financial decisions.

Our client has evolved from a mission-driven nonprofit into a fast-growing, revenue-generating business, closing $30M+ in deals over the past two and a half years—without outside capital. As they refine our product-market fit, services will remain a key part of their model, but SaaS will become the primary growth driver over time. You will play a key role in positioning our client as an attractive opportunity for impact investors, crafting compelling narratives that articulate our financial trajectory alongside measurable social impact. Keeping our mission at the center of decision-making, you will provide strategic financial leadership to navigate market shifts, drive sustainable organic growth, and, when the time is right, secure funding to responsibly scale their impact.

  • Partner with the Director of People & Culture on compensation strategy, equity programs, and employment contracts.
  • Optimize financial systems, reporting processes, and IT infrastructure to support the company’s growth and compliance needs.
  • Maintain oversight of corporate governance, legal resolutions, and financial compliance reporting.
  • Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience in accounting and finance, including 5+ years in a senior leadership role.
  • Experience in the health tech sector with a preference for health data, or regulated industries.
