Job Summary :

We are looking for a Senior Semiconductor Reliability Engineer to join our Advanced Microelectronic Solutions Department (AMSD). This role focuses on developing, designing, and manufacturing compound semiconductor devices for defense applications. Your expertise in reliability testing, device physics, and applied statistics will be crucial in this position. You will collaborate efficiently with a cross-functional team, demonstrating strong ownership and accountability in your work.

What You Will Do :

  • Lead reliability tasks from planning to analysis and reporting, taking initiative to exceed expectations.
  • Collaborate closely with process engineers, technology owners, and project leads.
  • Generate key reliability metrics such as MTTF, failure rates, and safe operating conditions.
  • Work with compound semiconductor transistors, passive components, and MMICs.
  • Utilize probe stations and various reliability testing systems (DC and RFOL).
  • Support next-gen technology development at onsite wafer foundries, ensuring reliability-oriented design rule verification.
  • Coordinate comprehensive failure analysis.

This position is a first-shift role and will require you to be on-site in Andover, MA.

Qualifications You Must Have :

  • A Bachelor's degree in STEM and a minimum of 8 years of experience, or an Advanced Degree with at least 5 years of device-level reliability testing experience in compound semiconductors (GaN and GaAs preferred).
  • Proven experience in developing and executing reliability test plans.
  • Strong skills in applied statistics, reliability modeling, data analysis, and metrics generation.
  • U.S. citizenship is required for the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
  • Qualifications We Value :

  • Solid understanding of device physics.
  • Experience in semiconductor fabrication.
  • Familiarity with failure analysis techniques (SEM, FIB, STEM, etc.).
  • Experience in the RF field.
  • Proficiency with lab tools such as probe stations and analysis equipment.
  • Knowledge of industry standards like JEDEC and MIL.
  • Skills in Python, PyQt, and data analysis tools (Pandas, Sklearn, Matplotlib).
  • Strong problem-solving and project management abilities.
  • Excellent reporting and presentation skills.

    The salary range for this role is $101,000 - $203,000. This figure reflects varying experience levels and qualifications. RTX considers several factors when extending offers, including role, responsibilities, experience, education, and skills. Eligible benefits may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) match, parental leave, and more. Specific benefits depend on the business unit and collective bargaining agreements.
