Controls / Automation Engineer – Overview

As a Controls / Automation Engineer, you will work across a broad range of industries to provide outstanding operational technology programs, interfaces, documentation, and support. Your work may involve assembly lines, well heads, datacenters, beverage facilities, and managed SCADA services, all within the same week. You will be expected to develop proficiency in 2-3 key disciplines while contributing as an individual and as part of a larger team.

Key Areas of Knowledge

• Instrumentation and calibration
• Control cabinet design and troubleshooting
• Electrical and signal troubleshooting
• RTU / PLC programming – ladder logic, sequential function blocks, structured text
• DCS development
• SCADA programming, graphics and support
• Drafting and control panel design
• Process controls
• Technical writing
• Project management

Travel and Work Environment

Work is completed in a hybrid environment : in-office with the team, occasionally from home, and in the field for commissioning or on-going support as needed. Target travel expectation for the year is 20%. Employees may elect to be on a travel team with higher travel requirements and receive additional compensation.
