MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE AS EITHER AN OPHTHALMIC TECHNICIAN, A PHYSICIAN SCRIBE, OR BOTH. COMPENSATION BASED ON BOTH EXPERIENCE AND ABILITY.SUMMARY : Responsible for assisting the ophthalmologist by gathering data pertaining to the patient’s visual status by maintaining an environment conducive to the delivery of efficient quality eye care
Responsibilities :
- Perform initial patient screenings and assessments
- Take patient medical history and document relevant information
- Conduct various diagnostic tests such as visual acuity, tonometry, and lensometry
- Assist ophthalmologists during examinations and procedures
- Administer eye drops and medications as directed by the physician
- Educate patients on proper eye care and post-operative instructions
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
Qualifications :
Previous experience as a physician scribe, an ophthalmic technician, or in a related field is requiredKnowledge of ophthalmic equipment and proceduresFamiliarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systemsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsStrong attention to detail and ability to multitaskAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced environmentCertification as a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) or Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) is a plusIf you are passionate about ophthalmology and providing exceptional patient care, we would love to hear from you.
