Family Law Attorney

Leading Matrimonial and Family Law Firm seeks an experienced Family Law Attorney to join our team in Garden City. The ideal candidate will be licensed to practice law in New York and have experience with consultations, client interactions, and court appearances, hearings and trials. Strong multitasking abilities and excellent skills in client relations, writing, communication, and research are essential. Candidates should also have strong analytical abilities, be capable of working independently and within a team, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. The compensation and benefits depend on experience.

Responsibilities :

• Represent clients in court and at settlement conference, mediations and trials.
• Advise clients on divorce and family law matters.
• Negotiate settlements for divorce, custody, visitation, property disputes, support.
• Communicate with clients, counsel, and supervising attorneys.
• Analysis and preparation of discovery requests and responses.
• Perform legal research and draft memoranda.
• Draft complaints, motions, and other pleadings and documents.
• Evaluate, draft, and argue dispositive motions.
• Prepare for, take, and defend depositions.
• Prepare for and attend court mediations, conferences, hearings and trials.
• Provide excellent service to all clients.
• Become familiar with and comply with billing and reporting requirements of the Firm, clients, and insurance carriers.
• Miscellaneous tasks as assigned.
