About The Position

Experience : Minimum 2 years pediatric experience on a general floor or higher level of care

License : Active RN license (ND or compact state)

Certifications : Active BLS (AHA), Active PALS (AHA)

Must-Have :

• Minimum 2 years pediatric experience on a general floor or higher level of care
• Active BLS certification
• Active PALS certification
• Ability and willingness to care for adult overflow occasionally
• Ability to float to NICU as needed

Description :

The position requires taking care of patients ages 0-18.

Occasional adult overflow care is expected.

This is a blended unit that accommodates all diagnoses including medical, orthopedic, surgical, oncology, behavioral health, and rehabilitation patients.

Responsibilities include performing procedures such as spinal taps, bone marrow aspirations, incision and drainage of wounds, complex dressing changes and wound care, transfusions, IV insertions, and NG tube placements.

You will assist physicians with other procedures as needed.

Familiarity with Epic charting and medication scanning systems is required.

Nurse-patient ratios are typically 3-4 on days and evenings and 4-5 on nights, based on patient acuity.

The dress code includes navy blue scrubs, with options for child-friendly scrub tops and navy or gray t-shirts under scrubs.

A comprehensive training and orientation program is provided.

Candidates may float to other departments, including NICU as needed.

Cancellation policy allows for client cancellations up to 12 hours every 13 weeks.
