About The Position

Job Title : Inpatient Pharmacy Technician – IV Compounding

Location : Wausau, WI 54401

Assignment Details

Contract Length : 13 Weeks

Guaranteed Hours : 40 hours / week

Shift : Variable days / PM shifts

Weekend Rotation : Every other weekend

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Inpatient Pharmacy Technician with strong IV compounding experience to join our fast-paced pharmacy team. This role is critical in supporting patient care through sterile compounding, including hazardous drugs and TPN.

Responsibilities

Prepare IV medications, including chemotherapy and hazardous drugs, in a cleanroom environment.

Compound Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN).

Operate equipment including Baxa / Abacus compounding systems and Repeater pumps.

Utilize Pyxis for medication distribution.

Maintain proper documentation and comply with sterile compounding standards.

Float to nearby Aspirus facilities as needed.

Chart using EPIC EMR system.

Requirements

Licensure : Valid WI Pharmacy Technician License required.

Certifications :

PTCB or CPhT – required

NIH Stroke Certification – required

Media Fill Test Certification – preferred

Experience :

Minimum 2 years of experience, including 1 year of IV room experience with hazardous drug compounding

TPN experience required

Software Knowledge : Abacus / Baxa

Repeater pump

Simplifi / SoleSource (preferred)

Other Skills : Strong attention to detail, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, familiarity with clean room protocols.
