Title : Health Systems Optimization Specialist Location : Tucson, AZ (On-site) Duration : 1 year Hours : 20 per week Max rate : $27 / hr on W2, all-inclusive / no benefits PURPOSE OF THE JOB This position involves supporting the planning, design, implementation, training, release management and ongoing maintenance of EHR (electronic health record) software applications. Critical Thinking - Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations Preferred Education Bachelor’s Degree in Management, Business Administration, or experience in related field ESSENTIAL job functions AND RESPONSIBILITIES Configuration and management of EHR / EMR and other clinical IT applications Analyzes organizational needs and defines functional requirement, oversees system configuration, and monitors implementation. Testing and communication to clinic staff of new release of software, vendor modifications, upgrades and patches. Works with individual staff members, managers and clinicians, and clinical leadership, to evaluate their EHR training needs and abilities Lead EHR / EMR change management processes collaborating with stakeholders to facilitate and improve all phases of the process. Collaboration with key stakeholders to collect, validate, and prepare information to support clinical care teams, quality improvement, and the reporting needs of the organization, as well any ad hoc reporting needs Serve as the main point of contact for vendors and staff in relation to EHR products, interfaces / integrations, reports, and dashboards. Works with clinical staff and clinical leadership to develop templates and provide advance training to maximize efficient use of the EHR Troubleshoots problems, identifies possible solutions, and resolves technical issues identified (hardware / software). Oversight of data exchange with the EHR / EMR to ensure compliance / regulatory requirements are met Strategic planning and management of enhancements to the EHR / EMR to ensure clinic experience is optimized Develop and maintain Subject Matter Expertise (SME) knowledge of EHR / EMR Documents EHR workflows to reflect current practices Continuous optimization of EHR / EMR workflows Compliance with change management process and procedures Act as a change agent to promote adoption of new processes and technologies to support best clinical practices. Formulate teaching outlines and determine instructional methods (i.e. individual training, group training, lectures, conferences, workshops). Plan, lead, monitor and execute multiple assigned projects simultaneously. Serve as a professional role model in promoting the understanding, integration, and application of information technology in healthcare settings.
