Description :
The position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in Medical-Surgical Cardiac ICU.
This unit provides care for young adults through geriatrics.
Common diagnoses include sepsis, STEMI, COVID, stroke, neurosurgery, renal failure, respiratory failure, COPD, cancer, and diabetes.
The nurse-patient ratio is typically 1 : 2 with occasional 1 : 1 assignments.
Nurses are required to titrate drips, including sedation, paralytics, pressors, antihypertensives, heparin, and insulin.
There is a Charge Nurse on each shift who takes assignments.
Patient care techs are available with a ratio of 1 : 10.
Registered Nurses will be responsible for reading and interpreting telemetry strips.
The unit is fast-paced and employs a remote monitoring system.
Nurses will engage in bedside shift reports and intentional hourly rounding.
Candidates should be motivated and willing to embrace learning opportunities.

Floating may occur to various units depending on abilities.
Weekend and holiday requirements apply.
