Shifts are scheduled for three 12-hour night shifts from 7 PM to 7 : 30 AM. There is no block scheduling available. The nurse would be required to work every other weekend, totaling two weekends per month. The facility does not permit requests for time off during holidays, nor on the day prior or following a holiday. A maximum of five days off can be requested, with no more than two consecutive days. Mandatory floating is required based on facility needs. All resources must be willing to float at the discretion of the facility. The nurse is expected to manage arterial lines, central lines, and provide continuous IV sedation. Interpretation of arterial blood gases and dysrhythmias is essential. Management of patients with multi-system organ dysfunction or failure will be part of the responsibilities. Triage and care for ventilated patients will also be required. Vaccination proof may be required prior to the start date, with no exemptions accepted for COVID-19. Medical or religious exemptions may be considered for flu vaccinations. The hospital operates as a Level 1 Trauma Center. Scrubs will need to be provided by the candidate. Charting will be conducted using a specified electronic health record system. Candidates must be responsive and provide required documentation timely. All qualifications must meet compliance standards before the start of the assignment.
