JOBSUMMARY & PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS

REPORTSTO : Executive Director - Instruction Secondary

DEPARTMENTNAME : Leadership and Learning

JOB SUMMARY (2-3 sentences) : Serves as demonstrationschool facilitator and instructional coach for the demonstration teachers andparticipants.

PRIMARYJOB FUNCTIONS : List, inthe order of time spent, the essential tasks performed by the position. Employees may be assigned additional dutiesby management as required.

Job Responsibility 1 :

Plans and conducts professional development experiences and activities for demonstration teachers during the school year, intersession, and summer.

Job Responsibility 2 :

Plans and conducts professional development experiences and activities for demonstration school participants during the school year, intersession, and summer.

Job Responsibility 3 :

Meets monthly with demonstration liaisons at each high and middle school to determine the best participants for each demonstration cycle.

Job Responsibility 4 :

Plans and conducts professional development experiences for assistant principals and instructional coaches that align to the instructional focus of each demonstration cycle.

Job Responsibility 5 :

Conducts webinars after each demonstration cycle as follow-up for each demonstration participant.

Job Responsibility 6 :

Collect, analyze and report evidence of demonstration school effectiveness.

Job Responsibility 7 :

Participates in the Capacity Building Program as a certified Project-Based Learning instructor.

Job Responsibility 8 :

Participates in professional development aligned with District goals.

COMPLEXITY OFWORK : Complexityof Work addresses the analysis, initiative, ingenuity, creativity, andconcentration required by the position and the presence of any unusualpressures.

Performs semi-routine work involving set proceduresand rules, but with frequent problems; requires normal attention with shortperiods of concentration for accurate results or occasional exposure to unusualpressure.

IMPACT OFDECISIONS : Impact of Decisions refers toconsequences such as damage to property, loss of data or property, exposure ofthe organization to legal liability, or injury or death to individuals.

RequiresBachelor’s degree in Education or related field, Master’s degree preferred.

LICENSES,CERTIFICATIONS, AND REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED : Licenses,Certifications, and Registrations refers to professional, state, or federallicenses, certifications, or registrations required to enter the position.

RequiresTennessee Teacher License.

EXPERIENCEREQUIREMENTS : ExperienceRequirements refers to the amount of work experience that is required forentry into the position that would result in reasonable expectation that theperson can perform the tasks required by the position.

Musthave classroom teaching and instructional coaching experience.

Morespecific degree, certification, and experience requirements will be included inthe position announcement as vacancies occur.
