The PTA will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to assist in implementing patient treatment programs. Key Responsibilities : Administer physical therapy treatments and procedures as directed by a licensed Physical Therapist in accordance with the state Practice Act. Communicate effectively with therapists, patients, families, and team members regarding patient status and progress. Participate in facility meetings, training sessions, and continuing education as required. Ensure adherence to Medicare, OSHA, and other regulatory compliance requirements. Support clinical operations by managing time effectively to meet productivity expectations. Assist in mentoring or presenting in-service training sessions as directed. Qualifications : Minimum 1 year experience required Active PTA Licensed : State Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program (CAPTE-accredited or equivalent for international graduates). Current and valid state license or certification to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant in New Mexico. Current CPR certification meeting state licensure standards. Knowledge of state and federal regulations governing the practice of physical therapy assistants. Skills & Competencies : Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team. Familiarity with charting, documentation standards, and medical terminology. Physical Requirements : Ability to lift and assist patients using proper body mechanics (up to 50 lbs independently). Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and physical activity throughout the shift. Visual and auditory acuity sufficient to assess patient needs and maintain accurate records.
