Community Center Assistant Manager

Harris County Precinct 4 is seeking a dedicated and motivated Community Center Assistant Manager to help lead the daily operations at Steve Radack Community Center. This role supports the Community Center Manager in ensuring the center remains a welcoming, safe, and engaging place for all visitors. The Assistant Manager plays a vital role in delivering high-quality programs, fostering community partnerships, and upholding our core values of Heart, Hustle, and Higher Standards in every interaction.

Job Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Support the Community Center Manager in overseeing day-to-day operations and serve as acting manager in their absence when designated.
  • Supervise, coach, and schedule administrative and facilities assistants to ensure effective team performance.
  • Help create and maintain a welcoming, safe, and inclusive environment for participants of all ages.
  • Assist with developing, planning, implementing and evaluating recreational, educational, and cultural programs.
  • Lead classes, workshops, or programs as needed to support center offerings.
  • Build and sustain positive relationships with participants, fostering a sense of belonging and community.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with organizations that provide workshops, classes, programs, and special events.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and program data to support center operations.
  • Communicate Precinct 4 programs, resources, and initiatives to participants in a clear and positive manner.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities, including training on safety, leadership, and program development.
  • Assist with facility setup, breakdown, and cleanliness when needed, ensuring operational excellence.
  • Attend meetings with department leadership and provide updates as requested.
  • Serve as part of the front-line response team during natural disasters, severe weather, or other emergency events, supporting community needs and coordinating resources as directed.
  • Support evening and weekend programs to ensure adequate staff coverage during operating hours.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of center and precinct-wide goals.
