3pm-1 : 30am, Mon - Thur, overtime available.
$16-$17 / hr starting pay, based on experience. (+$1.50 / hr shift differential).
The SMT Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining Surface Mount Technology (SMT) equipment used in the assembly of printed circuit boards (PCBs). This role ensures that all components are accurately placed and soldered according to design specifications, while maintaining high levels of quality, productivity, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities :
- Set up and operate SMT machines such as screen printers, pick-and-place machines, and reflow ovens (e.g., Yamaha, Fuji, Juki, DEK, etc.).
- Load and unload feeders and reels with surface mount components.
- Monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions or misfeeds.
- Perform first article inspection and in-process quality checks.
- Ensure that all SMT equipment is maintained and cleaned regularly.
- Read and interpret assembly instructions, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and engineering drawings.
- Use AOI (Automated Optical Inspection) and SPI (Solder Paste Inspection) equipment for quality control.
- Troubleshoot basic machine issues and escalate complex problems to technicians or engineers.
- Maintain accurate production and quality records.
- Follow all safety and ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) protocols.
Qualifications :
1-3 years of experience operating SMT equipment in a manufacturing environment.Familiarity with IPC-A-610 standards is an advantage.Basic mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.Ability to read and understand technical documents and drawings.Good communication and teamwork skills.Ability to lift up to 25lbs and stand for long periods.Work Environment :
