Position Overview :

\nJoin Duke Health Lake Norman Hospital as a Travel Echo Tech / Cardiac Sonographer, providing exceptional cardiac imaging services across a diverse patient population—from neonates to geriatrics. This position offers an excellent opportunity to enhance your skills with state-of-the-art GE equipment while working within a vibrant healthcare community committed to patient excellence.

Key Responsibilities :

\n \n

  • Perform detailed echocardiography and cardiac ultrasound procedures on patients of all age groups.\n
  • Operate GE ultrasound equipment with precision and adherence to best practices.\n
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnosis and optimal patient care.\n
  • Maintain strict compliance with safety protocols, including current flu vaccinations (no exemptions or declinations accepted).\n
  • Assist with patient positioning, preparation, and post-procedure care to ensure comfort and safety.\n
  • Keep detailed, accurate documentation of procedures and findings in accordance with hospital policies.\n
  • Participate in bi-weekly orientations and team meetings to stay current with protocols and technology updates.\n

    Certifications & Licenses :

    \n \n

  • ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) Certification \n
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification \n
  • Valid state licensure as required (if applicable).\n
  • \n

    All certifications must be current and maintained throughout the assignment.

    What You Bring : \n \n

  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant echocardiography experience performing cardiac ultrasounds.\n
  • Proficiency with GE ultrasound machines and related technology.\n
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently within a fast-paced environment.\n
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.\n
  • Willingness to work every third weekend and on-call one week per month.\n
  • Flexibility to work oriented shifts with bi-weekly training updates.\n
  • \n\n

    Preferred Education & Experience :

    \n \n

  • Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or a related healthcare field.\n
  • Extensive hands-on experience with pediatric and adult cardiac ultrasounds.\n
  • Prior experience in a hospital setting is highly desirable.\n
  • \n\n

    Additional Details : \n \n

  • Flu vaccines are required—no exemptions or declinations accepted.\n
  • Scrub color is navy blue.\n
  • Local candidates within 75 miles are preferred to facilitate compliance with assignment requirements.\n
