The Department of Neurology in the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University in Augusta, Georgia is actively seeking a faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor, as a board certified / board eligible full-time Neurology physician to join our faculty specializing in Memory / Cognitive Disorders. Devotion to excellence in clinical care and teaching will promote the professional goals of the faculty member and needs of patients. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to providing clinical care, participating in covering inpatient and outpatient clinical services, night / weekend / holiday call coverage, and academic / teaching within the Medical College of Georgia and the Department of Neurology. This position does not meet the requirements to be on a tenure track.

Responsibilities

Patient Care / Service :

• Pursuing the faculty member's passion as related to our clinical, research, and educational missions.
• Provide high-quality, comprehensive care in neurology memory / cognitive disorders in an effort to improve quality, safety and patient satisfaction.
• Participate in assigned clinical duties : Evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with movement disorders in the outpatient clinic.
• Meet all metrics associated with Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluation (OPPE). This includes but is not limited to : attendance at quality meetings proper management of documentation, completion of all online compliance training modules, attendance at faculty meetings, etc.
• Meet and maintain productivity targets as set forth by the department chair and MCG Dean's Office through clinical services provided.
• Promote good professional relationships and build referral patterns with Augusta University physicians and physicians outside of Augusta University (referring physicians in community, region and state).
• Provide prompt feedback to referring physicians.

Teaching / Instruction :

Required Qualifications

MD / DO or equivalent from an appropriately accredited institution. Fellowship in Memory / Cognitive Disorders. Must have or be able to obtain a medical license in the state of Georgia, obtain a federal DEA, and be CPR certified. Successful candidates will have a proven history of excellent clinical skills, involvement with clinical research, and strong desire to be involved with resident teaching.

Assistant Professor - Early level career as a faculty member with appropriate post graduate training.

Associate Professor - Mid level career faculty member with at least five years at rank of Assistant Professor or comparable training, background, and experience.

Professor - Senior level career faculty member with at least five years at the rank of Associate Professor or comparable training, background, and experience.

The intended work commitment or full-time equivalent (FTE) for this position is 1.0 and considered full-time.

Assistant Professor - Salary and compensation is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements. The salary is subject to availability of funds.
